The Kees subsector population in 1119 was 23.4 billion. New Era census
population is 15.6 billion, a reduction of roughly 25%. The highest populations
are at World (2740) and Gaidraa (3136) (10 billion and 2 billion respectively).
They have the best starports (B-class) as well. The best TL (10) is at Gaidraa
and Stromo (2831).
Despite having many high populated worlds, Kees was considered a settled, sleepy
backwater subsector, due to the average stellar to pre-stellar tech levels.
Notable examples were Zimila (2838) (1 billion, TL-12), World (10 billion,
TL-8), Gairdraa (4 billion, TL-10), and Ermi (3139) (2 billion, TL-8). Only Kees
(2937), the subsector capital, (population 4 billion) was TL-14. Together
these worlds comprised 90% of the subsector's population.
Due the activity of vampire fleets migrating thru Kees subsector, as well as the
Collapse itself, fleeing the Core Puppeteer menace, no PEs have formed. Besides
having several high populated worlds, Kees subsector has five worlds where the
population did not survive into the New Era at all from the Collapse, but are
habitable worlds themselves. Only on Ermi and X'rae (2940) did a population
increase occur.
World (2740): Notable for not only surviving the Collapse, but improving
its tech level due to refugees of the Doomed Trade. It achieved a B-class port
and TL-9 and it stabilized its population at 10 billion due to Timer-club
measures.
Gaidraa (3136): This world survived though it lost half of its
population. Its government's draconian measures have relaxed somewhat (law level
decreased to 6). It maintains TL-10 and its B-class yards, mostly due to the
lack of a gas giant in-system.
Ermi (3139): This world survived not from so much as having a lack of gas
giants or proper planning, but from its pre-stellar tech level of 6. Ermi of
1200 resembles its pre-Collapse self. Its government has no plans for
technological change, and its TL-6 PADMs have worked just fine thus far at
repelling unwanted visitors from space.
