Athdong Subsector: The Athdong Subsector has an
estimated population in 1202 of approximately 15.4 billion, a decline of
69.2% from its Pre-Collapse population. Aen Aroes has the highest population
(8 billion) and shares the highest tech level rating (8) with Athdong. The
Ogaeka Subsector (its former name) had an estimated population in 1120 of
approximately 49.9 billion. Its highest population was 30.1 billion at Gor
Soell, and its highest tech level was 12 at Gvokh.
Subsector Notes:
TNE: As word of Virus came to Athdong (0933), a Vargr named
Gaeksorouk was able to unify the various packs of the world against the
coming menace. In an amazing display of unity, the inhabitants were able to
survive the onslaught of Virus with relatively minor technological losses.
The billions of dead became martyrs and served to keep the Vargr united. With
Vampire attacks waning, Athdong seeks to emerge from the surrounding rumble
of the Assemblage of 1116 and forge a new interstellar state. They have
already sent scouts to Aen Aroes (0938), which also fared well against Virus,
and other former Assemblage of 1116 worlds.
Dhingkarz (1431) used Virus as a means of declaring their independence
from Khuegudzo (1332). Both worlds are scrambling to recover as much
remnant technology as they can find to stave off any further technological
decline but each has balkanized and the ensuing power struggles have yet to end.
Gor Soell (1534) used to be ruled by the Church of the Chosen Ones. The
leaders vowed that they would be spared the holocaust because their world was
"chosen." Nearly 30 billion lost their lives as this low tech world suffered
from unprecedented orbital bombardment at the "hands" of Vampires. The
atmospheric taint is from residual dust and smoke particles leftover from years
of carnage. Although there are several competing factions now, the three main
ideologies are: "Our Faith has been tested and we failed," "Our Faith has been
tested and the Truly Chosen have survived to rebuild," and "The whole Chosen
fable is a crok. There are no Chosen. Death to those who would perpetuate this
lie."
Okhgug (1634) was in the midst of a world war when Virus destroyed the
starport. The warring factions have long since depleted their stockpiles of
imported weapons and reverted back to primitive weapons. Although the wars have
ended due to "boredom," the survivors are not above clashing with rivals over
food and water.
