Ungakne Subsector: The Ungakne Subsector has an estimated population
in 1202 of approximately 764 million, a decline of 99.2% from its Pre-Collapse
population. Relghuerrag has the highest population (500 million). Rroeksung has
the highest tech level rating (8). In 1120, the Ungakne Subsector had an
estimated population of approximately 96.1 billion. Its highest population was
50 billion at Ungakne, which also had the highest tech level (13).
Subsector Notes:
Rebellion Era:
Ungakne (3126) and Uengtalrra (3221) are friendly industrial rivals.
Each tries to outdo the other in terms of prosperity. When the Dzarrgh
Federate began to grow in power during the 1090's, Ungakne joined them.
Uengtalrra remained independent because the various nation-states could not
come to an agreement as to whether or not membership in the Federate would be
beneficial or not. Ungakne soon became the subsector capital for the Dzarrgh
Federate and appears to be the more prosperous of the two: higher TL and better
starport.
TNE:
Rakh (2524), Kaloekhe (2525), Tse Aegal (2730),
Thukhang (2839), and Oethtughon (2928) were able to maintain a
handful of functional starships in their dilapidated starports. Rakh and
Kaloekhe are isolated from the others. Their vector of infection came through
Klarz (2423) in the Angknul subsector. They have
had no contact with anyone else besides each other since Virus swept through the
area. The other 3 worlds have conducted limited trade with one another but have
had to avoid Relghuerrag (2930) due to the hostile conditions there.
With the collapse of the infrastructure on Aeka Sur (2822), all hell
broke loose. Only those communities in the southern polar region, where the
one ocean is found, survived the otherwise harsh conditions of this world.
Without the power grid and no means to import food, the cities quickly
deteriorated into anarchy. Great sandstorms and oppressive heat wore out all
but the very healthiest and heartiest of Vargr. It is possible that some have
sequestered themselves within the subterranean limits of the desolated cities.
Although Ungakne (3126) was ahead of Uengtalrra (3221) in their
rivalry, Virus treated them equally. Between the two worlds, 80 billion
people died. Starports and naval bases committed suicide and plummeted to the
worlds below them. Industrial parks became slaughterhouses as infected robots
and other machinery began to process Vargr instead of ores.
The population portion of the UWP's provided are for the survivors of these
two worlds. It is believed that a similar strain of Doomslayer Virus runs the
industrial complexes of both worlds and continues to function, producing
sentient robots to assist in the operation of the facilities and
refueling/repairs of Vampire ships passing through the area. The
technological capabilities of these facilities is unknown but production is
limited. As such, Ungakne has been able to cleanse itself of the industrial
taints which plagued it. Current pollutant output remains limited and within
acceptable tolerances.
