Galok Subsector: The Galok Subsector has an estimated population in 1202
of approximately 4 billion, a decline of 90.6% from its Pre-Collapse population.
Uetsaekotsou has the highest population (3 billion). Oeroukangue has the
highest tech level rating (8). In 1120, the Galok Subsector had an estimated
population of approximately 43 billion. Its highest population was 20 billion at
Kangangksirroz. Galok and Ksar had the highest tech level (13) honors.
Subsector Notes:
Rebellion Era:
The bureaucracy at Kigzarraghz (918) is so mired in red tape that
technological progress on this industrial world is held up at TL5. Although
their society functions, it relies too much upon outside support.
Farrouka (1117), although owned by The People of Wanz, is completely
under corsair control. The official word from the Wanz government is that
the corsairs are merely safeguarding the planet that is to eventually be
the site of a Wanz colony. The Red zoning, in addition to the presence of
unscrupulous corsairs, is for the complete lack of starport facilities.
Ksar (1317) is a high tech mining colony. It is
rumored that deposits of Lanthanum are present.
TNE:
Once Virus rendered the starport of Kigzarraghz (918) inoperable, the
bureaucratic machine came to a grinding halt. Famine swept the world and
cannibalism was not unheard of. Over 6 billion people died. On a more
positive note, with industry put to sleep, the world began to heal itself
from pollution. In 1202, the inhabitants of Kigzarraghz, although balkanized,
are now focused on agriculture.
When an infected hand computer got plugged into a corsair's main computer,
it began to blast away at the corsair base on Farrouka (1117). When
the hapless crew managed to disable the weapons systems, the ship crashed
into the base. Today, the remaining 27 descendents are faced with extinction
as the gene pool is all but dried up.
Galok (1312), the chief base of operations for the Baknae Alliance in
this subsector, got caught by surprise by Virus. Being a waterworld with over
10 billion people, it was heavily reliant upon high tech architectural
support. When computer support systems for the cities and other structures
became infected, 99% of the populace died within a few hours.
The nation-states of Oeroukangue (1520) managed to put aside their
differences and work together to keep their civilization going. The
successful representative democracy that was established has enabled them to
have the only functioning starport in the subsector. Some trade is conducted
with Vankgku (1522) in Wanz subsector.
