Odzaeg Subsector: The Odzaeg Subsector has an estimated population in
1202 of approximately 6.2 billion, a decrease of 64% from its Pre-Collapse
population. Odzaeg has the highest population (4 billion) while Goeno has the
highest tech level rating (9). The Odzaeg Subsector had an estimated population
in 1120 of approximately 17 billion. Its highest population was 10 billion at
Gvanlagh. Nursaerrgh had the highest tech level (15).
Subsector Notes:
Rebellion Era: Despite the fact that all but two worlds in this
subsector are independent, the subsector has been relatively prosperous. It
might be because so many worlds have naval bases (7) and that if any one of
them went to war the others would soon join in against the aggressor.
Irregardless, peace has brought prosperity. The Empire of Varroerth has
had its eyes on this subsector for some time. Attempts to soften up the locals
with corsairs has proven to be a failure.
Zaeghzo (1804) endured a nuclear war in 1093. The weapons arsenals of
all sides involved were so thorough that very few people survived. The starport
was even destroyed. In 1100, a corsair band set up operations here. They trade
limited amounts of equipment for food grown in the select few areas that aren't
irradiated.
The settlement at Nursaerrgh (2103) was founded for the advancement of
science and technology. Although there is no naval base, the planet has an
elaborate and advanced automated defense grid. Long coveted by the Empire of
Varroerth, they have resisted corsair attacks designed to weaken them. Although
not a member of the Llaeghskath Interacterate, they nonetheless support
their cause.
TNE:
With the corsair base wiped out by Virus, the people of Zaeghzo (1804)
once again sank into darkness. The people became desperate. The surviving
corsairs tried to maintain control but eventually were overthrown. The planet's
technological decline continued. By 1200, the radiation levels from the nuclear
war of 1093 have tapered off. As the planet slowly heals itself
and wildlife spreads, the Vargr are starting to rebuild.
Much of the data about Nursaerrgh (2103) comes from outside sources.
Based on reports from salvage teams from Goeno (2105) and freedom
fighters on Aellgo (2104), a hobbyist strain of Virus has infected
Nursaerrgh's systems. It is assumed that the starport and technological base
have remained intact. No one who has attempted to land on the planet has
ever returned. Ships which have fired upon the planet have been driven off
by the defense grid. They report that all signs of an active civilization
are present. The more damning information comes from the freedom fighters of
Aellgo. They report that the TED on Aellgo has received help from
Nursaerrgh's Hobbyist in exchange for Vargr slaves. They also claim that
these slaves are being used as test subjects in experiments as the Hobbyist
wishes that Vargr and Virus can become one. How it plans on going about this
is unknown. (Note: The V in the government and law level digits in
the UWP stand for Virus-controlled.)
